Method:

Magnetic Flux is generated in the tube, and leakage from defect
areas are detected.  

Sensitivity:

Excellent to O.D. Good to fair on I.D. defects.  

Size Range:

2” (50mm) diameter and up.

Advantages:

Fast, Dry. Moderately sensitive.

Disadvantages:

Spurious signals from welds and other magnetic anomalies. Poor
end zone coverage.  

Cost:

Moderate. Some consumables.
